Let Them Eat Cake

If you are an aspiring game developer, but you don't know how to make a living developing games, do something else.

Seriously. 

The video game industry has become a bastion for bad leadership, shallow pandering, and generally supports the worst people. Those people need good people to do the actual work. Stop doing the work for them. 

I know, it sounds ridiculous, but it would take less than three years. All we need is a first wave of staff around the industry to quit. A large enough wave will reduce quality and increase stress. A second wave will come the next year, then all those parasites and bourgeois fart-sniffers will have to find another industry to ruin. 

After the whole thing has collapsed, find your way back in a fresh, more sustainable market. The remaining companies will be thirsty for talent. The market will have less shovelware hacks drowning your games visibility.

Don't invest your time in a market that has reached it's peak. There isn't any gold left in the video game rivers. It's just toxins and goose crap.
